Hi!
I need a new storage for 5 VMWare-servers. Storage needs to be high available and data must be saved in two buildings.
One of my partners offered me two Dell SCv3020 (former Compellent) as all-flash-system with 30 SSD-drives - one in each building as live-volume.
Do you have any expirience with these systems?
My first impressions are:
- Great featureset
- Service seems to be good
- Price is high, but acceptable
- Performance is o.k., but not as good, as it should be with that hardware.
- Fully supported by VMWare
- VERY fast failover in case of controller/enclosure failure
My alternative would be:
- One ZFS SAS-Cluster
- One ZFS DR-system (async. replication)
As I need a system on the VMWare HCL, it would be an Open-E JovianDSS-System.
Thank you and best wishes
Stril
