Hello, everyone!
I need your help. I've been using Teamviewer for years to assist my parents with all sorts of computer issues. However, the free version comes with limitations, so I'm currently looking for an alternative. I've heard good things about AnyDesk but haven't had a chance to test it out myself.
Any other suggestions for Windows 10? I'd appreciate any insights you can share!

Apache Guacamole is what I'd use today: Apache Guacamole™

However, when we had to choose a solution a few years ago Anydesk was the most viable (and only GDPR-conformant) solution. Works quite well and has prebuilt binaries also for FreeBSD as well as some Linux distributions. These lag (quite far...) behind the Windows binary versions, but at least they are there if that's of any concern to you.

Dunno if you watch the "awesome open source" YouTube channel or not but he likes rustdesk as noted by rtech.

Hi! AnyDesk is pretty reliable and convenient, but it does come with certain limitations for free use. Another option, if both computers run Windows, is the built-in Windows remote desktop software. It's handy, although setting up a connection can be a tad trickier than with TeamViewer. Alternatively, you could give HelpWire: Free And Simple Remote Support a shot it's a free app with no limits.

I just installed a self hosted RustDesk server and tested with a couple of mobile devices clients and it worked pretty well. I've had issues with TeamViewer as well. My account got flagged as commercial use but I only ever used it to support my parents as well (2 mobile devices)... Who knows. Performance was great, better and faster than TeamViewer. Direct connection worked well so it didn't have to resort to use the server as relay. And I can use an ed25519 authentication key.
