One more tiny detail to add to that article: Synology doesn't offer 24/7 (nor 4-hours on-site) technical support, including on any "Enterprise" products.
If you want real enterprise storage cheaply, I recommend checking out iXSystems TrueNAS hardware. Having recently deployed a couple of these guys, my manager had a hard time believing the great deal these are. Their support engineers are also very good.
We went with X20-HA with an ES60 shelf.
