Synology Expansion Chassis Connected to Infiniband Card in Server

Hi All,

Curious if anyone has tested connecting Synology Expansion Chassis directly to a server?

The expansion chassis seem to be hitting the market at very low prices now that HDD capacity is so large.

Not a fan of Synology but I like the form factor of the expansion chassis.

If you're referring to models like the DX1215, then that's not going to work. It uses an InfiniBand connector, but it's just carrying SATA to the internal port multipliers. It won't work with any InfiniBand HBAs.
