Hi, guys. Greetings from Croatia.

I have a little RAM issue, and need a little help in understanding what I am (maybe) doing wrong.

So, this is my setup:

Single Xeon E5-2620 v2
Supermicro X9DRD-7LN4F

4 x 16GB Samsung M393B2G70DB0-CMA RDIMM DDR3 - 1866MHz

I placed them in the "A1,B1,C1,D1" slots, and everything seems to work fine - but - RAM speed is fixed at 1600MHz.
Tried the settings "Auto", "Force SPD" and to no avail, memory is "locked" to 1600 MHz.

My BIOS is updated to 3.0a version, since I read on several forums that I should not upgrade to 3.3 (latest) unless I have CPU issues.

I am a little reluctant to do the "force 1866" option. Am I wrong?

Is there anything I am missing?

Thx

Your CPUs have a maximum supported memory speed of DDR3-1600. For these CPUs, that's a hard limit
