I have a Supermicro x11spi-tf-o with Intel QL1K ES processor. Can you let me know what BIOS versions will work with this processor? Anyone have one of these boards with an ES chip and have any advise? Thank you!

How do I download the v2. 1 bios? I only see the latest v3. 2 on supermicro's site.

Supermicro wont provide me with a 2.x bios version for this board. Does anyone have one that they can share? I need a bios that supports skylake-sp es (50652) for the Supermicro x11spi-tf-o motherboard

thank you, Nero. What version of the bios did you just post? Can I modify the 3.2 bios with the skylake-sp es (50652) microcode?

I am having a different issue where the board turns on (power LED on, BMC/IPMI led flashing) but no output on the VGA or beeps from the board. I have the jumper in the correct location for the on-board vga to be active... i dont know why I cant get it to display on my monitor.

This is the latest one from here: X11SPi-TF | Motherboards | Products | Super Micro Computer, Inc.

With the 50652 v37 MC added. MMTool had some hickups before, if this is not working you can try to manually replace a MC. When everything fails theres probably another incombatability between the Bios and your ES and you have to find the old one. I haven't done anything on Intel platforms for a long time, so i'm not up to date what the Intel ME is doing and which tools are still working.

So you downloaded the latest 3.2 bios (X11SPI9_A17.zip) and added the microcode for the Skylake-SP ES processors in the rom you posted?

Hi Nero,

I got the MMTool patched file and looked at the default ROM in the X11SPI9.A17 bios versus your rom file. I see that you added the microcode as a CPU patch. Capture.PNG

Should I replace this file in the X11SPI9.A17 bios from supermicro and follow the upgrade instructions?

Supermicro wasn't helpful via their email/ticket system.

I called their 24 hour support line and they sent me the v2.1 bios! After activating the IPMI interface, I was able to downgrade from bios v3.1 to v2.1.The Ql1k chip now boots and functions properly. Crisis averted!

if you need help updating the RSTe / VROC modules in the 2.1 bioses, I can help you do that. I just updated my v2.1 bios for my x11-spm-tf from RSTe/VROC 5.4 to 6.2

Hi

Finding Older Supermicro BIOS Files.

I had the some issues and needed an older Bios. I used the wayback machine.

Wayback Machine

Wayback Supermicro 1.JPG

I think this Direct link might help. It takes some time to download.

BIOS Download | Support - Super Micro Computer, Inc.

Choose the BIOS Zip file required.

Open a link for a "New Tab" from the URL provided and accept the End User Licence. Save the File.

I will put this into the "Guides" section for future reference.

I hope this helps.

Good Luck.
