Please can you advice what I´m doing wrong?
During the last months I have bought hardware for my new server. CPU, motherboard and memory used on eBay. CPU cooler and chassis are new.
Here is what I got used from eBay:
- Intel Xeon E5-2650L V4 (marked confidential)
- Supermicro X10SRH-CLN4F Server Motherboard LGA 2011-3
- 2x32 GB modules MTA72ASS4G72LZ-2G1A1HG Micron 32GB PC4-17000 DDR4-2133MHz ECC Registered CL15 288-Pin Load Reduced DIMM 1.2V Quad Rank Memory Module
And bought new:
- Supermicro CSE-745BTQ-R1K28B-SQ
- Noctua NH-U9DX i4
During boot it fails with "System Initializing - B7". I know the error code is memory related but I do not have access to other memory modules to verify it.
Instead I decided to buy a new memory module which is supported by Supermicro. I bought 1x32 GB HMA84GR7MFR4N-TF Supermicro 32GB 288-Pin DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000) Server Memory (MEM-DR432L-HL01-ER21)
But still same B7 error message....
This is getting very expensive for me. I now have 3x32 GB memory modules which I cannot use. But only option I can think about is to continue buying different memory modules until I get something which works...
What am I doing wrong? Does anyone have experience with memory supported by the X10SRH-CLN4F motherboard?
Of course I could have bought everything from new. But that would have doubled or tripled the price as hardware is very expensive where I live (Denmark).
