Found an issue that is puzzling me and figured I'd see if anyone had any thoughts on it. I'm running BIOS 2.0a and have a E5-2630 v4. According to the MB manual (https://www.supermicro.com/manuals/motherboard/C612/MNL-1577.pdf) on page 2-15 it shows that it should support 2400 mhz memory, however it seems to be limiting my memory to 2133 mhz.

Looking at the IPMI interface it shows that the memory is capable of 2400 but it's operating at 2133:

I've played around a bit with various BIOS settings but no luck so far. Anyone dealt with this before?

I have exactly the same CPUs and the 2400MHz DDR4 Samsung ECC RDIMMs with a dual Asus and yes, I know a little late to the party but I knew the 2133MHz limit of the CPU before buying them. The memory was bought with future CPU upgrades in mind :) You'll barely notice anyway, the memory bandwidth makes little difference in everyday use.

Yea, not too worried about it. The cost of the ram wasn't much more than the 2133 and I trusted the brand more. Was more so just confused since I couldn't find a cause.

IIRC there is also the option to bypass the default speed and run the ram at whatever speeds it is rated for (2400 in this case) in the X10SRH BIOS.

There is an option where you can set the max frequency that the system will use but it won't enforce it. It already detects the ram can support 2400 so it's just a matter of compatibility with the CPU.

Hmm, interesting, I have some Samsung 2400mhz on my X10SRH-F with an ES 2630 V4 and I could have SWORN that it was running at full 2400mhz.

Now I must verify when I get home tonight!
