I'm going to move a few servers around sand replace some DAC with SFP+ optics.

I've got stacks of generic optics in the office. Can I use them in the Supermicro X10SDV SFP+ ports or will I need Supermicro coded ones or Intel?

They are a lot more accepting than Intel PCIe NICs even though they are Intel powered if that is what you are asking.

Will this: Cisco 10G SFP+ SR module from fs.com, work 100% with Supermicro Xeon D?
What about other devices compatibility? Eg. mentioned TP link?

It the TP link switch is close maybe a DAC cable also works and ends up cheaper ?

I resisted buying the tplink when it was super cheap (maybe an error) so I can't answer exactly but it seems the same sfp-10g-sr will also work in the switch and just complain it's not a geniune sfp but works

Hi,
Anyone tried SFP RJ45 copper modules? I ordered one on Aliexpress but it seems it's not working, link is up on switch but no traffic and no MAC.
