Finally got this board working, at least somewhat.

However, all of my NVMe drives running at about half the speed as compared to my other machines.
What am I missing?

Specs:
Motherboard: Supermicro X10QBi Rev.1.01A
CPUs = 4xIntel Xeon E7-8893 v2 6-Core 3.4GHz
GPUs = 1x Nvidia Quadro RTX 4000 and 1x Nvidia Quadro P620
Memory riser = 4x Mem1 (rev1.01)
Memory= Each Mem riser is populated with two 16GB Dimms (SK Hynix HMT42GR7AFR4C-RD DDR3 PC-14900R 1866MHz)

NVMe:
1x Intel Optane 900p 280GB (Boot)
2x Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB (Data)

Any ideas?

I haven't tried any 970's in a server yet but the older drives were slow under windows server unless the Samsung drivers were installed.

X10 + DDR3+ V2 Xeon?
I thought X10 is Xeon v3/4 and ddr4 only
Socket 2011-1 is a little different. This motherboard supports Xeon E7 v1 through E7 v4. Both DDR3 and DDR4 are supported depending on the memory risers you use (which also determines CPU compatibility).

This board supports both cpu families. Depending on the type of memory risers installed v1.x supports DDR3 and memory risers v2.x supports DDR4. Not officially supported is a Xeon v3 with memory risers of type 1.x, but I have successfully used it in that configuration.

Tested the drives again in a Supermicro X9DAi (same OS, Server 2012R2) and they work fast as intended.
Now I have spent another 3 hrs configuring the X10QBi Bios. Link speed checked, link bandwith correctly detected, all show up as trained.
Booted fine, benchmarks ran, but no sucess at all. NVMe's still performing bad in that board. I am lost. :confused:

Also see if turning off energy saving features in BIOS can help.
I have also seen linux hdparm giving wildly different numbers in a E7 machine (HP in my case). For example when i boot in redhat or ubuntu on the same machine I get very different numbers with redhat's much faster. But in the end these numbers don't necessarily translate into application speed comparisons. I ended up not paying too much attention to these bench results.

SOLVED. Indeed turning off energy savings features in the BIOS was the solution!
All my drives working now close to the speed they should.
AS SSD Benchmark tool reports a bit less than CrystalDiskMark but that is to be expected.

Thanks so much to everyone helping me out on that issue!
