11 pcie slots and 8 of them open ended:eek:

This would make an awesome board for a homelab if it wasn't so huge and would requiere special chassis.

what use are 11 pcie if you are only going to use half of them? anyone using this will still use risers, unles they have a weird single slot fetish

not to mention if its gpus its linux only because windows dies at around 6-8 gpus.

:D :D it's only 5mm wider than my current Tyan s4985 board (and a bit shorter), might be an interesting upgrade?? (possibly not, as I have only DDR3 spare memory, only E5V1 cpu's... and no budget to go for all that new).

I was thinking of different network fabrics (ethernet + ib or omni path) and different storage devices (iodrives/optane/nvme add on cards + sas hbas/raid controllers) in one chassis like the 846x

I bought this and received it today :)

Will replace my X10DRL-i with the X10DRX to allow some bigger upgrades in the future.

Additionally, the i350 vs i210 Intel GbE helps for my VM's

Anyone interested in buying this board from me? I did not calculate in the size difference, and it does not fit in my current case >.<

I'm interested, I'm in the USA and have chassis/case to fit it.

Would like to get this x10 and sell one of my x9 :)

Thank you @Mirabis

8 gpu max in windows, did you have to unplug the 9th there?

i have same mb. i would like to try 16 gpu in linux, but in the bios i do not see 4x/4x bifurcation options like other supermicro motherboards. did they disable bifurcation on this particular motherboard?

pretty sure there's no bifurcation as each physical pcie slot has physical dedicated lanes and there's no "splitter risers"

10x 8x pcie = 80. each cpu supports 40. slot 11 is a pcie 2.0 x4, which is provided by the PCH. "no lane left behind".

That said, it's a real hassle to get this going and stable with 11 cards. right now I have it running with 9 as it was too much trouble to figure out what was wrong with the cards that were acting up.

warning: The X9 version does NOT have open-ended pcie slots.
