What are your must have features?

The system you linked to uses DDR3, which should be cheap but limited to 16GB. You have a decent amount of drive expansion available. Includes out of band management. Unit price of $450-$500.

An equivalent system is the Netgate SG-5100. Has 4 cores, includes RAM and MMC. Has 6 Intel network ports. Price of $699

If I were buying a firewall I would look for a used SYS-200 or SYS-300. That would give me more than enough headroom to run IDS/IPS, VPN, and Squid.

Ok see it but our choice will be even better and bigger :D:D:D ....

Here for our new gateway of defense :

SM SYS-5018D-MF ( + 8Gb ram and a Xeon E3-1240LV3 ). I add also Intel Ethernet Server Adapter x4 LAN, and last but not least i will use SSD (x2 in case of...)

Eh voila!

A dual ... Not too much for Pfsense ?

For ours I finally make a build with a very low energy consume as Xeon E3-1220LV2 (17W) + 8 Gb ram + SM DOM ssd 16Gb. Which is widely enough for us. (SuperServer 5017C-MF).
... But still waiting for the quad ethernet card ...
