If you own or have experience with any, pls chime in:

Are any of the above quiet compared to say a Dell R710?

I installed a 6027R-TRF, similar but not exactly the same. At idle in a ~70F room it was reasonable to work next to. It now sits in an equipment closet at ~80F and idle makes a good amount of noise. Noise mainly comes from the mid fans, the PSU is rather quiet.

I have a SYS-2027R-WRF which has a very similar chassis (same layout, fans, and PSU) and like cactus said, if you give it cool ambient it's very quiet. Noise ramps up as ambient and cpu temps ramp up but never to harrier jump jet levels like a 1U can.
