I got some LGA 2011 boards from a seller on ebay, unfortunately they arrived with damaged pins.

Anyway, I posed the idea of having the seller let me keep them and refund me and I can pay SM for repairs. The seller came back and asked what a fair partial refund is.

Does anyone have experience contacting Supermicro for board repair and how much does it cost for them to replace sockets?

IIRC, last time I did an RMA with SM where they replaced the socket on an LGA1155 board it was just under $100, shipped and returned. An LGA2011 socket should be a bit more, but not much.

Personally I'd ask them for a return and full refund and be done with it. It's likely not worth the hassle.

Minor, semi-unrelated update. Of the 1 out of the 3 boards that seemed to have good sockets, turns out the IPMI isn't working. Bah. I really don't have great luck with 2011 boards on the first go around when it comes to ebay.

They arrived like that. They had socket covers on but I always inspect sockets first thing. The seller doesn't have inventory to offer replacement so I doubt it was his/her fault. Probably improperly handled when they were liquidated.
