Is it necessary to buy the special nvme carriers or will the regular ones (/converters) for ssds do?
I have plenty of them (Supermicro (Gen 4) 3.5" to 2.5" Converter Drive Tray (MCP-220-00043-0N), Gen4) so if I can avoid it...
3.5->2.5"
Supermicro Black (Gen 5) NVMe 3.5" to 2.5" Drive Tray (MCP-220-00116-0B) (gen5)
2.5"
Or maybe I should ask whether there is a compatibility matrix between SM carrier generations (8?? wtf) and chassis/ build years?
