Hehey Folks

Ok i come directly to my situation.

What's the HW:
Mainboard: Supermicro H12SSL-CT ( REV: 1.01 )
CPU: AMD EPYC 7232P
RAM: 2x Samsung 8G 2Rx8 PC4-2133P-RE0-10-MB1 ( M393A1G43DB0-CPB2Q S )

If i put all power cables on ( both cpu and the big 24 pin) the POST stops at:
DXE--USB Initialization and right on the IPMI/BMC screen/console is the code 62.
The 0x62 is "Installation of the South Bridge Runtime Services", this is the end of the "POST"-road. :)

I've tried to put the RAM sticks solo or in any different kind on the board, i've tried to CMOS reset and factory reset and nothing brings me a step further.

So i downloaded the BMC and BIOS software and first i updated the BMC from 01.00.34 to 01.00.35 and it work, the new versions was there.
Then i updated the BIOS from 2.01 to 2.03, after the update process, the device does a reboot and ... ?!? it is still BIOS 2.01..

So, after reboot 3 times, i have to ask for help, the POST process stops still at (DXE--USB Initialization / 62) and i can't update the BIOS, the proces of the updates goes really smooth, but after it is still 2.01.

This is the data under BMC -> Firmware -> Inventory:
BIOS BIOS Date: 06/02/2021 Ver 2.1
BIOS Backup Not Present
BIOS Golden BIOS Date: 06/02/2021 Ver 2.1
BIOS Staging BIOS Date: 10/20/2021 Ver 2.3
BMC 01.00.35
BMC Backup Not Present
BMC Golden 01.00.34
BMC Staging 01.00.35
CPLD Motherboard F0.A6.44

I hope someone can tell me, what i'm doing wrong.

Best regards from Switzerland (sorry about my horrible english) :)

first the BIOS rev. you see in the IPMI is updated by the BIOS after successfull POST.
your POST is incomplete, so you see the last successfully data only.

RDIMM exactly. ECC is good to have.

Hey vielen vielen dank für die Info, das hilft mir wirklich sehr weiter. Lese auch gerade weiter das es tatsächlich "rome" mit 2133 nicht so gut hat, sogar 2466 geht nur mit glück.
