Supermicro H11DSi rev.1 - update Bios via IPMI

I am trying to dip my toe into remote management, for now mainly to update the bios with a custom version.
The first roadblock I encountered: the IPMI web interface tells me that I need an "OOB" license to do a bios update.
Do I really need to pay 30$ to Supermicro for the privilege of using such a basic feature?

What is that custom BIOS about? if you wish to share of course...

Well not exactly custom, depending on your definition of the word. But it has the AMD CBS menu unlocked.
Basically every setting that the motherboard manufacturers usually hide from users can be found here. I am hoping to get some memory OC out of it.
