Supermicro getting into the consumer market

Was looking for something else and noticed this. Interesting to see Supermicro expand into consumer space as MSI/ASrock/ASUS expand into servers.

I think its just opportunistic. More and more "performance gamer" users have figured out that SMs enterprise products meet many of their needs - especially as more and more of the specialty shops close us as this market shrinks. As a Line of Business for them to take seriously it makes no sense at all since it is a small and shrinking market.

Ha! Talked to their product guys a bit earlier about this. Unlike a company like a HP/ Dell, Supermicro can go from concept to product very quickly. Hence why they are doing projects like NVIDIA's GRID servers.
