Supermicro FAN-0074L4 - BO @ $6 + Free Shipping

I've had the Supermicro fans on my alerts for a while and Amazon seems to be the cheapest at $20 w prime usually. I stumbled across just the fans, without the case, which are a drop in for most of the chassis and only a slight modification on others.

Seller accepted my $6 BO.

Have you used these before in a build? I've read that these are the "whisper quiet" fans from a few posts but never wanted to pay $20 to find out. The stock fans in my SC846/SC826/SC216s are not exactly quiet

I don't see the model 9G0812P1F03 listed in that and google isn't helping me find the right pdf

These are relatively quiet with good PWM control, but not the quietest Supermicro 80mm fans. The ones they use in their SQ workstation chassis are FAN-0104L4

Fan-0104L4 is .13A and I believe are 25mm width and quitest of the bunch.

Next up is 125L4 which are 0.35A & 38MM wide. SanAce - 9GA0812P2M0031.

I think ones in OP are 0.55A / 0.6A.

I have some 1.1A if anyone wants. Those are the screamers but not in the same league as the delta screamers in Dell C6100

These are similar but dell custom connector so will most likely need order the wires. I believe the connector will still work with standard 4 pin motherboard fan socket. Lot of eWaste with rest of the parts though.

He basically got back to me and stated that the fans are almost "identical" to the ones in the auction and they're only "6db" louder. I think this is gonna be a request for refund as he didn't say anything about having the right fans in the first reply.

You definitely don't want FAN-0094L4 if the chassis is in a homelab setting.

ridiculous... why list it as the 74 part if it was 94 part? don't try to convince me they are the same... just say "sorry, I messed up, here's your refund".... argh...
