I should also note that 1 of the CMOS batteries was dead too.

I'm wondering if that could be why 1 boots and 1 does not, anyone know how picky SM boards are for CMOS battery being full?

No Bios post screen on my board neither.

Just dropped it off to send it to RMA today.

You guys are leaving the seller at least neutral feedback im assuming?

Hopefully leaving negative feedback, DOA is unacceptable when selling as used and "Working pull" if you have to deal with RMA with the manufacture it should be listed as for parts. Kinda glad I passed on this deal now...

Seller definitely deserves a negative. No way they didn’t know these were defective. Especially every single one of them.

Mine is about to be dropped in the mail as well.

I probably should have asked this question before, but I'm wondering if anyone can comment on the idea that this CPU can push a full 1GB WAN using pfsense, or my preference, RouterOS? The Cloud Core routers that can push 1GB w/o an issue have a ton more cores but lower Ghz. Though this might be apples and oranges considering those are TILE cpu's that I've never heard of.
My goal is to have WAN failover, and 2+ zones LAN/Wifi (additional zones via vlans)

Now i'm thinking I should have jumped on that other deal.... A1SAi-2750F-O. Ah well.

I contacted the seller regarding this DOA mess and they will refund my RMA cost. Well, at least is better than nothing.

I also spoke with the seller and they have admitted that it came to their attention late in the game that these boards were removed from operation because of issue. "You are doing the right thing by sending it to Supermicro" I was told. And I did ask for a $20 refund to cover shipping to SM, and a little extra for my trouble. They refunded without issue. This could be an honest mistake by a recycler. They did make good on it, so I will be leaving positive feedback with some details of the issue, but I dont feel they need to be thrown under the bus per say.
