Hi guys

I'v gotten my hands on a set of these enclosures.

Now, the PSU is loud - i was aware pre-buy - but man is that a lot of noise. Then i remember seeing someone changing the fans.. But i'v been googling and searching the forums for a few hours now. Cant seem to find it.

Anyone who can help me out? - or have any experience with changing the fans in the actual PSU..

Sidenote. Did you change the chassi fans aswell? - I'v been considering doing it, but im guessing i'll have to spend like 30$ a piece for some fans that produce simular static pressure to what the original SM ones are..?

Thanks,
Mads

Depending on the model the 900w can be really loud. What model # ?

$20-35 each for the 1200w 80+ Gold

but I'm not sure your chassis to make any more model suggestions.

Platinum rated ones are the silent ones that I have. They go for 50-180$ on ebay --- so keep an eye out.

If you don't want to spend that much the $25-35$ 1200w 80+Gold are quieter than the 900w 'standard' unrated.

My 846 with 1200W psu's is currently at customs (And they suck in Belgium so might take a while :( ) so i'll be able to tell how silent it really is.

The 900W Super Quiet should be quiet as they say. The question is, what is quite. For the ones who can compare, is it as "quiet" as the Seasonic 460W 2U? I have it now in my Norco but its quite loud for me. It's all about perspective.

Ah, perfect that was what I was looking for - cheers.

Now, time to figure out if its cheaper to buy a SQ psu somewhere on ebay.
