SuperMicro 8XSAX not liking ECC ram.

Hey guys,

I got an 8XSAX and I got some datacenter surplus ECC ram. This ram is Samsung M393B5170FHD-CH9 2Rx4 1333mhz.

The ram does not appear to work in the motherboard, I get a blank screen and it does not boot.

This ram is not in the tested ram list but a similar models are
Samsung M391B5273CH0-CH9 / M391B5273DH0-CH9 / M391B5273BH1-CH9

This motherboard works fine currently with non ECC ram.

Can any one make a suggestion as to what is going on? Could all 6 sticks be bad? What am I missing?

The memory you got is registered ECC ram and the board only appears to support unbuffered ECC ram. You need to find UDIMM ECC which unfortunately is not as cheap as the registered stuff.
