So I picked up a Supermicro 846E16-R1200B chassis with a BPN-SAS2-846EL1 backplane. I would like to use this as a JBOD, but I am wondering which power control board to use? Will this chassis support the CSE-PTJBOD-CB3 with the associated mounting hardware (MCP-120-84702-0N)?

There are different versions of the 846 (current is the N revision, I think the older ones with the sas-1 backplanes are the K revision) with different holes for the spacers. All chassis with sas-2 or newer backplanes should support this control board.
