Just looking at these again, I wonder if they have 3x usable PCIe slots (e.g. are the risers there?) That would make the boxes extremely useful if so.
The risers are easy to find on ebay if they are missing.

Gonna buy all remaining 6, get 12x E5-2620v2s, load up 64GB DDR3 RAM and list them on WHT for like $600+ profit each.
Wish me luck

Have you had luck selling on WHT? I am not sure what I am going to do with mine as I also picked up more 1356 gear and a 2u 2xe5-2620 server

I have had zero luck selling on WHT.
All depends on what it is. The high end SSDs and the like for one example, even if you are trying to sell them at a huge discount and are totally worth it - the overall total price will not make it feasible for the vast majority of the budgets surfing WHT. :)

how hard is it to install a process on these with heatsink? I've build desktops but never messed with server type racks.

Also, are these quiet machines or very noisy? Thanks

1u= loud under load (4-6 40mm fans going 10K rpm). Think jet engine. Fine for server room/closet not so much for office.

To me they are actually easier to service than desktops most of the time. The cable routing makes stuff much easier to get to. Just like a regular PC, pop in the processor and screw down the heatsink.

I'm confused by the 2.5" caddy part numbers. The ones linked in this thread does not match the ones listed in the server case page.

Also, does anyone know the size of the fans? I want to replace with quieter ones.

based on my knowledege
please do Not! or you will overheat the system.
using 40mm fans, I think is using dual fans. 1u is designed for spaced constrain, loud noise fan is not the factor.

There's nothing wrong with replacing fans with better specifications than the original. As long as the CFM is similar, you're fine.

please show the fan with the same CFM but much less fan noise :D
you can not beat space constraint on 1u. you would replace with lower CFM and RPM.
on my knowledge replacing low RPM and CFM on 1U is useless due on space constraint.
