Anyone have any experience with this brand of china switch

I have been wanting to go 10Gbps for a long time but would have prefered for the power use to drop more first
anyway i have been looking around and there doesnt seem to be much new coming anytime soon
i want RJ45 but with 1 or 2 SFP+ for uplinks there doesnt seem to be many around

I found this

SunSoont SST-MTG8T4XS
8*10Gbps RJ45 ports
4*10Gbps SFP+ ports
RTL9313 Core
RTL8264B 4 PHY on a single Chip x 2 (Multi Gigabit Ethernet PHY)

I paid £186 for it on alibaba its not on aliexpress yet and expect to pay about £45 customs charge when it arrives

They seem to oem/odm for other brands
within around an hour they said they have a newer model ready if im ok with that
it looks to be something they made for KeepLiNK but its RTL9313+8 RTL8261B's rather than RTL9313+2 RTL8264B's
i said i would prefer the one i ordered if thats ok which they where fine with (i think they are going to have to build a few)

Edit these are made in the HRUI factory the same as the previous 8+1 2.5Gbps Realtek Switches
Its just a case of all these company's talking a big game and contracting them to be made by HRUI

Interesting to see the RTL9313 making an appearance in this segment. :)

Prices of the RTL93xx series of switch chips must've dropped in price or something.

I've seen more new RTL9303 based models too recently. Before I only found 8 x SFP+ but now there are ones that are either 4 x 10G RJ45 + 4 x SFP+ (with or without management and PoE) or 2 x 10G RJ45 + 6 x SFP+. Those are the fanless desktop type switches though.

Would be nice if some of these new models were reviewed by STH. :D

I could see them selling well as its a far better layout
They are setup for 10-19 pieces 20-499 pieces 500+ pieces i ordered a sample
they do custom firmware and case for customers think hassivo keeplink etc..
When i post pics of the internals and web interface maybe patrick will request a sample from them for review

Here's the Horaco ZX-SWTGW2C48NS 8 SFP+ 4 RJ45 Variant that looks to be made by Sunsoont for Horaco

I doubt they make anything for Hasivo specifically since they already sell their switches white label to Mokerlink, POEPLUS, Omay, ONTi, Hicomdata, etc. The PCBs of those rebranded switches also normally have Hasivo logos. They also have their own custom PoE board and also do their own firmware development.

Keeplink can certainly be a rebranding operation though. The picture you posted before definitely looked very a lot like one of the Keeplink models. :D

Most of the 8+1 Realtek 2.5Gbps switches are made by shenzhen hongrui technology co ltd
you can tell by checking the mac address any oem if big enough can request a custom pcb with branding

Im not saying Hasivo didnt make it im saying they all talk a big game and who do you believe

The brands I mentioned say they buy them from Hasivo (sometimes openly, sometimes when you ask them about it) and I know that Hasivo does firmware development (well, modifications to the Realtek SDK) as I had POEPLUS reach out to Hasivo to make firmware changes for me.

I have heard about Hongrui though. :)

Who's to say whats happening

but HRUI is the manufacturer for sure for all boards with that PCB layout
I could see the 10Gbps switches have the same sticker and layout of the pcb as my Ampcom 8+1 2.5Gbps
which was the same as Horaco,Xikestor,Hasivo etc.

which got me looking at HRUI's latest releases

Hasivo may well just be a bigger buyer that requests customizations and then sells them on to smaller players
any request POEPLUS puts in Hassivo may well be then passing this on to HRUI for fixing in a convoluted chain
HRUI may then be passing this onto Realtek who then provide the base binary which gets passed on up the chain

I checked their website and I honestly didn't see any models matching the Hasivo switches I've either bought or considered buying. Therefore I'm not at all convinced. :)

Hongrui make a lot of the switches, sure. Do they make all of them? I doubt it. :)

What about these?

Like I said, they also use their own PoE chips:

That would seem kind of weird if they were just Hongrui rebrands since Hongrui already support PoE from what I can tell. :)

Im just posting the 12 Port 10Gbps switches that are coming out
it doesnt really matter if hassivo made the pcb or Hongrui was contracted to make it for hassivo
if they made it their selves good on them
but as i said we have no idea if they contracted a custom pcb to be made for them
or if they made it their selves
im not sure why it matters so much to you that hassivo must have made it

Horaco have one coming also which is Hongrui based btw

Oh, I see. :D I thought it was in response to my earlier comment.

Regardless of who is making them, it's nice to see more cost effective RTL93xx based options available. I imagine it's also what Ubiquiti's upcoming smaller 10 Gbps switches will be based on, seeing as they have using Realtek switch chips in the past in some models.

Did your Sunsoont switch arrive yet btw? :)

No they had 7 days to ship it and they didnt have any stock
so they ordered some or made some
I presume ordered some as they look to be hongrui
will see by the pcb when it arrives

They shipped it a few hours before the 7 day limit was up
should be here in about 5-7 days

Fingers crossed the declared value on the package is low
so i dont get stung with a £50 vat charge but im good either way:oops:

I don’t understand this fascination with no-name hardware. Especially switches. Especially these crappy switches.

Outside of China or China adjacent geographies no one is gonna buy them. Why? Because they‘re crap.

What’s the point of bringing these things up on STH, which is primarily a US audience??

what are you talking about they provide full wirespeed
they work just fine
feel free to buy 10 year old gear using 10x the power
"no one is going to buy them" what?
end users cant get enough of them maybe look outside of your "bubble" once in a while
