Any suggestions for great deals on equivalent (or very similar) cards to the LSI 9271-4i w/ CacheVault Module?
Re-brands or what have you... Dual Core 1.2Ghz RoC, 1GB DDR3 Memory/Cache, etc

Would highly prefer flash cache modules instead of dealing with BBUs, but if there are equivalent performance cards at great deals with BBUs -- I'll be open to it.
I'm looking for like ~4 sets of these for a upgrade project I'm working on :)

Thanks Guys!

The ebay seller with these (intel brand) won't drop the price much, it was cheaper for me to get the 12Gb/s cards than these 6Gb/s ones. But they're not including the BBU that they did with the external cards, so it's still really pricey.

Where did you see 1.2Ghz ROC?

IIRC this is the ROC.

For the chipset used with the card you mentioned.

Whoops... I mustve been thinking about the LSI 9361 ROC when typing that up.
Which eBay seller?

IIRC, IBM M5016 is just re-branded LSI-9271/9266. It has dual-core cpu, 1GB/ddr3 cache and CacheVault is standard part of package. One year ago I bought two of them on eBay, brand new, for 250€ a piece. I have been using them since then in my ESXi-servers...

And believe me or not, but a few months ago I bought brand new M5016 on eBay for 60€! This one came without CacheVault, but I keep it just as reserve in case one of my other M5016 fails...

So you see, with a little luck and patience you can get it for quite good price!

Gonna go with Dell PERC H710P's with 1GB NV Cache - seems to be right up my alley
