Hello STH folks,
Few months ago i've build DIY NAS using old PC case, xeon cpu and ram, which i had left from other projects.
The hardware itself is pretty old (sandy bridge, DDR3, etc. ) but it does the job for me.
I have three NVMe drives Samsung - 960 EVO 1TB, 970 EVO Plus 1TB and 980 1TB for storing VMs on it (i use it for iscsi on ESXi) - no raidz, just regular pool from striped disks.
But Samsung 980 is being reported with 16KB native sectors, which looks really odd.
Is there anyone there who can shed some light on that, because i was not able to find 16KB block size anywhere in that drive specs (more details below).
Thanks a lot in advance to anyone who could give some hints!
