Has anyone been doing this? seems like not a bad way to lease out extra space per month. sia appears to be $2.50 per tb per per month and storj im not sure of but pays more with current prices. Even at $2.50 per month, that pays off a drive in 14 month

Edit: can this be moved to software. that is where i thought i created this

No clue what you're talking about and googling SIA returns songs, etc...

URL with more info?

Never heard of "sharing hd space" o_O for $, sounds interesting.

Sia - Sia
Storj - Storj - Decentralized Cloud Storage

They use cryptographic "storage" currency. You get paid monthly with storj not sure with sia. The value i've seen for Sia is about $2.50 per month per tb of storage you have "contracted" out. For Storj it is more expensive so could be up to $10 or more per month. I'm going to try them both. A lot of how much you have "contracted" out has to do with your bandwidth and uptime. You get autopaid into a cryptofolder from what I could find researching

There is also maidsafe and burstcoin that do the same thing

Funny you mention this. I had a discussion on the Storj service not too long ago.

My thought is that I am jealous of that part.

More constructive answer - I am not sure how liquid the payouts in some random crypto currency are.

Dont be it is AT&T. saw them running fiber down the street last month. They keep tieing google up in court here while they magically find the funds to build out fiber all the sudden
