Greetings,

I have been fighting with this issue for quite some time now and it's not making much sense to me.

I have a Supermicro X8SIL motherboard with an x3440 CPU and an LSI 9211 HBA. I have attached 4 2TB Samsung PM863a SSDs.
The problem is, when I run badblocks -wsv on more than one drive at a time, one or more drives will error out and disconnect.
I know this isn't a problem with the SSDs because I individually ran badblocks -wsv on each drive and there were no errors. I was also able to run badblocks on all 4 at once on a newer, but consumer grade system (MSI B450 + Ryzen 3 3100).
I have also tried a different HBA, an HP H220 (LSI 9205).
Adding to the list of things I've tried, I also tried a Supermicro X9DRD-7LN4F (which has onboard SAS HBA) + E5 2637v2, and this also had the same results.

Attached are the errors I'm getting from dmesg. They didn't seem helpful to me.

Thanks in advance for any help. This has been a massive headache.
