I'm looking for recommendations on higher write endurance SSDs with semi-decent read speeds. The drive will be used for two things:
1. Subversion repository that's about 4GB on disk right now.
2. portsnap snapshots.

The portsnap snapshots are a collection of thousands of small compressed tar files. I'm going to be using ZFS with this. Snapshots are updated every 2 hours. I don't know the delta size off had, but it's likely writing at least 45GB a month, possibly more.

I could use either a m.2 nvme drive 2280 or a 2.5" SSD. Motherboard is a consumer level Asus B350 tuf board with a first gen ryzen 1700. It's got a video card and a 10GbaseT nic so a pcie AIC isn't likely going to work.

I've gone through a series of Intel consumer drives with this. The current one is nearing TBW limits. It's a
INTEL SSDSC2BW240H6.

I've been considering a Samsung 970 pro or evo plus but most of those are still in the 600TBW range at smaller sizes. The board can't handle anything larger than a 2280 m.2 so most enterprise drives are out.

Write endurance matters more than speed.

45GB writes per-month is not 'high write work load.

High write work load enterprise drives are 1 drive write per day or more, even on the smallest drives from 5 years ago that's 100GB per-day.

With your work load, and size of data you should be fine with an older\affordable high performance very high write endurance Intel S3710 800GB, 2.5" size SSD, $120 or less as of last few weeks.

How much space/sized disk do you need?
If you have a SAS card there are HGST drives are 9-10pbw and pretty cheap. They are 2.5” but super thick (15mm) and need at least a little active cooling.

I may actually have 4x 400gb drives (rated for 7.3PBW) available plus a supermicro 5.25" to 4x 2.5" enclosure if you're interested.
PM me if so (the drives are nearly new ~ I think <1TB written, would have to get crystal disk info on them)

I got PM1725, that rated for 5DWPW, that's 15Tb/Daily for 3.2Tb model and 30Tb/day for 6.4Tb model (59Pb Endurance). Should be enough for me :)
