I have a bad habit of collecting hardware, and not really having a use for it. However, with this recent Dell C6100 buzz, I really want to add one of those to my cluster.

Therefore, I am seeing if anybody is interested in splitting a 1/3 Cabinet at Continuum Data Center in Chicago. They are offering 1/3 Cabinet, 25 Mbps on a 100 Mbps port (we could consider upgrading to 1000Mbps) and 10A for $250 per month (http://www.continuumdatacenters.com/colo-specials.html).

I already have 2 x 1U servers and a 1.5U gigabit Cisco switch at Continuum. I have been nothing but impressed by them. Their customer service is fantastic and I have not experienced any downtime. Therefore, if I could find someone to share some space with, I could justify some new hardware ;)

Let me know if you are interested.

Dan

Pretty cool setup. I almost went with a 1/2 cab just for this. Another idea: what about just letting folks install one sled? If you look at mine I have two empty slots (or six) but do not have the power allowance for additional nodes without paying.

That isn't a bad idea, but a bit more "micro management" than I'd like. Basically I just want to split the cost down the middle.

Seems reasonable.

Did you look where Patrick used? Fiberhub is 200mo for 1/4 cab. Add 5a prob $50. Your option has more space. Fiberhub has 50mbps on gigabit. May be necessary if you share hosting.

That sounds like a pretty good deal. However, I already have 2 servers at Continuum, so I was hoping just to get someone else involved and cut some costs.

I actually use pretty minimal bandwidth, about 100GB/month.
