Looking for some suggestions to replace my current matx setup. Smaller form factor, power saver.

Currently running AMD 8 core, 8gigs and 1TB HDD.

Suggestions be appreciated.

When you run it do you want everything turned on? How many users?
6 users... All devices in the home, TV's, Xbox, desktops, laptops, cell phones. Yea, have most everything running.

I would recommend a high clock speed, low core Mitx setup. Since ram is limited to 6gb with xg or 8gb with v9 utm I would just get 8gb and call it good. The disco speed really doesn’t matter. You could go with the solid-state drive to save on power a little, however you could save a few dollars and use the small laptop drive to achieve the same thing

You won't even need to high clock speed, most of the time mine is fairly idle.
There was another similar thread recently btw

I disagree slightly since snort is single threaded. If he has antivirus,IDS and IPS turned on then he’s gonna want to speed. Otherwise I agree with you.

I know, and thats the reason I had built on a high freq cpu originally as well but it never went over 40% on my end (less users, 450 mbit)

I run mine as a vm on one of my servers. I never see CPU usage. mostly memory. IDK maybe im not a heavy user?
I have it configured with 4 cores and 4GB Ram.
