hi guys, I recently built a server with epyc 7C13 but has no gpu, os is RHEL 8.8. After i install horizon agent and connect it to horizon, the pool says it's maxmium resolution is 1920x1200.
Is this becuse i don't install a gpu?

For anyone has the same issuse, adding a gpu can solve this problem. I bought a second hand P620 for a vary cheap price.
PS: Horizon is far more smooth than xrdp in WAN enviroment!!!

Your system probably has a bmc chip and that chip contains a "simple" gpu for 2d acceleration (for the desktop).

yes, the mb is MZ32-AR0, it has a bmc chip AST2500. So, does this chip limit my resolution? Can i change it higher?

So i can solve this with a gpu? nvidia or amd?
Not if you want higher resolution via ipmi.
If you add a discrete gpu your system will use that as primary output and your bmc output in ipmi will be just a black screen or the post message.

I recently ran a PoC of Horizon and the answer is ignore what it says. With those settings on the server side I connected clients with 3x 4k screens without issue.

I assume you are using virtualization? I don't need virtual machine, instead, i'm using the server for FEM Simulation so i just install rhel8 on bare metal. I assume that's lead to the problem. I have ordered a GPU and will update this post after i install it.
