Hi,
I have an older Intel S1200v3RPL Xeon board. I have 16 GB Kingston Ram from the compatibility list that's working fine.
I wanted to upgrade to 32GB and found an offering of ex-Synology diskstation modules. Unfortunately they don't work (3 beeps indicating memory error).

The board supports "Minimum of one 1 GB, DDR3 1066/1333/1600 MHz ECC UDIMM"
The modules I got are from a RS10613xs+ which uses "DDR3-1600 unbuffered ECC DIMM CL=11 Single Rank 240pin 1.5V" - they are a custom Apacer product code so I can't look them up but they state "8GB ECC PC3-12800 CL11" so that fits - if they are unbuffered o/c.
My modules are similar to these: www.ebay.com/itm/Synology-ECC-RAM-Module-4GB-x2-RackStation-RS10613xs-RS3413xs-/311465369827

Unfortunately I don't have a DDR3 Reg ECC board any more to double check them...

Any Ideas why this wouldn't work if they are Unbuffered modules? Will run a Bios update next but not sure that will make a difference

Lol,
imagine my surprise when it worked after the Bios update.
Naturally I started poking around and found I had only installed 2 instead of 4 modules this time. Swapped back and forth and found one of the 4 modules is defective.
