Saw this and been watching @ $125, just reduced to $100 each. I think I got mine for $140 each for this model ssd1600mm these are ssd800mm models but still pretty much same device. Remember when the hussl's went for $100 each for 400GB models, those were 6Gbps devices these are 12Gbps sas ssd's. Super high endurance and performance. I'm broke currently so passing along a steal of a deal. Trust me you will NOT be disappointed w/ these drives!

Get em' while the gettin's good.

Take care all and good luck!

the listing doesn't say anything about the endurance...
definitely NOT a smoking deal with incomplete info and minimal seller rating.

Do your research brother, most sellers are not going to include this.

Your loss if you don't think this is a smoking deal is all I gotta say, dare I say prove me wrong and find/show me a comparable device that can match this price/performance value? :-D

Performance Read throughput (max MB/s, sequential 64K) 1150 Write throughput (max MB/s, sequential 64K) 700 Read IOPS (max IOPS, random 4K) 145,000 Write IOPS (max IOPS, random 4K) 70,000

7.3PB endurance on the 400GB model, true ent class 12Gbps SAS ssd device, you DAMN near cannot kill these!

Yes I have.
Definitely not going to take your word that these are new, even if it means missing out on a great deal.
Perhaps you have extra information we are not privy to, but I feel that's not good enough for it to be a good deal.

I do agree that without proper health information you can risk getting a dud. Some things are too good to be true.

Picked up the lot. nice vsan capacity tier drives for me. Was waiting for good 800 gb deals so that I'll have a nice matching set of drives, but at this price point, couldn't pass them up.

Haha, you again. If you ever want to pass drives to someone else at a discount, send me a message. I am also looking for high speed drives to setup a packet capture storage host...

Did you end up using the Chenbro case you were asking about earlier?

Nobody said they were new, clearly used but a helluva deal even used, not many folks can induce the type of workload required to EVER wear these out. Next time you write 7K TB's to a disk let us know w/ proof of course :-D

Good score @K D

.25cents per GB of ent class sas ssd stg w/ this performance/endurance rating...that's the way to do it!

I'm not too worried about the TBW on these because I doubt I'll even write 1 TB. I have the 800gb ones and their performance is awesome.

Yep, I got 4 of the ssd1600mm 800gb ones and 4 of the ssd1600mm 400gb models and they KILL it! Run 50-60 VM's on them and replicate vSphere VM pool between them using FreeNAS replication. Now mine I did get lucky and got new for $250 for 800GB models and $140 for 400gb models HELL must have been nearly a year ago but I would not even hesitate to get used dev's of these. These are just a gen older but pretty much in lock-step perf/endurance-wise IIRC.

If buying used SAS HGST drives is "too risky" then most def. never buy used HDD or SATA SSD for that matter :D

Glad someone snagged these before I snagged 4 more! Great drives.

Out of every SAS SSD I've purchased used on ebay not 1 has had 1PB writes on it, some have come close but they're still working fine too, that's probably out of about 75-100 drives. Not a huge # but not 4 or 8 drive sample either and all are HGST SAS2 or SAS3.

I have some hgst ssds from a netapp appliance (HUSMM8020ASS200, 9.1 PB write endurance) and they have less than 100tb writes :D

I am just sad still that I missed out on the recent Brocade ICX 6610 deal...sniff...someone be on the lookout for those for me if you'd be so kind as my Juniper Ex4300 has recently started making an awfully funny high pitched whining sound on and off. Karma pay back/finders fee!

Waiting on X-Case to bother themselves to respond so I can order it... building my Xeon D NAS in it.

BTW, I have two HGST SAS SSDs of the newer series (2016 manufacture) of 250GB each, I got them with the intention of using them as mirrored cache drives for Cache Cade. Is this a sensible idea or I should just use the S3700s I have? (got 400gb and 100-200gb disks for that).
