Motherboard Asrock Rack TURIN2D16-2T seems to require a PSU that supports SMBus.
I have set up all components (dual CPUs, 16 DIMMs, GPU 5090) and when I turn it on I get a brief sound then nothing.
After a bit of chatgpt and search the root cause is the fact that ATX PSUs like the one used Silverstone Hela 2500Rz do not support SMBus.
So it seems I need to get a server PSU, however Chatgpt came up with a looooong shopping list:

After a bit of chatgpt and search the root cause is the fact that ATX PSUs like the one used Silverstone Hela 2500Rz do not support SMBus.
So it seems I need to get a server PSU, however Chatgpt came up with a looooong shopping list:
- FSP3000-20FE (CRPS 3000W) — primary PSU module. (Alcom / FSP EU) fsp-ps.de+1
- FSP-FC250 PDB or official FSP PDB kit — to get ATX/EPS/PCIe connectors + PMBus header. (FSP Group PDB product page) fsp-group.com
- CRPS → PDB cable (matched to the FSP3000-20FE) — get from FSP or the PDB vendor. fsp-ps.de
- PDB → Motherboard cable kit: 1×24-pin + 5×8-pin EPS (verify length). (Often sold with PDB or via server integrator). fsp-group.com
- PDB → GPU cable(s): either native 12VHPWR harness (if PDB supports) or multiple certified PCIe 8-pin cables rated for the RTX-5090.
- PMBus / SMBus cable for PSU_SMB1 header (5-pin) — supplied by PDB/vendor. Geizhals
- Mounting bracket or small 1U CRPS cage / bracket for the Alta D1 (or plan a custom bracket). (Check FSP/third-party mounting accessories.) Alcom electronics
- Is Chatgpt being funny or is it really what I need just to replace the Silverstone Hela 2500Rz?
- is the Motherboard allergic to other ATX/ Consumer products? now we know the ATX PSU is not welcome, is it allergic to RTX 5090 / RTX 6000 Pro?
