I am setting up a proxmox cluster with ceph cluster for lab purpose with 4 x11ssh-ctf motherboard in UNAS nsc810A chassis (very small chassis and air vent is on the side of the chassiss and not at the back)

After turn on the rig without any case fan, I realized a few hot zone. Even with case fan on, the LSI3008 chip and X550 chip is still extremely hot. Another flaw I found is the motherboard's m2.pcie only support 2260 SSD length.

with my hotglue gun and few blower fans, I decide to enhance the board for better cooling.

Here are the results

And the temp has dropped significantly

Here is my guide on how to flash onboard lsi3008 to it mode

What fans are those? I have just screwed on noctua 40mm fans. But this looks really neat.

Nice mod on the short M.2. That is my biggest gripe with this MB and the main reason I could never really reccomend it to others.

The fans are nice, but not really needed - the PCH and LSI3008 are happy hot - at 37C/51C you still have 20C headroom on both.
