HYNIX HMA42GR7AFR4N-TF PC4-2133P 16GB DDR4 ECC RDIMM PC4-17000 SERVER MEMORY RAM
They just sold out @ $60 for 16G. I bought 4 which arrived yesterday. Just plugged them in and they worked.
Prices are coming down this year on DDR4 as YRST fab and others are expected to come online.
Memory makers are likely to cut back production to try to prop up prices but losing market share is a risky game
Good article. Ironic that CPU shortage and higher prices leads to lower memory prices. Once CPU production gets back into gear maybe the memory prices will go up. But I suspect the lower-end server memory will drop on eBay.
I did, he countered with $70 :/OBO was $65 last night, so go ahead and put in an offer
You're missing that this is DDR3 ECC UDIMM not RDIMM, UDIMM is much more pricey.Am I missing something here? this is "PC3-12800E" DDR3 and not "PC4" DDR4.
FYI Your link is to RDIMM NOT UDIMMThere is a big difference in DDR3 ECC UDIMM pricing for 4G and larger sticks 8G or 16G sticks.
The 4x4G are down to $50 OBO for 16G. Same seller has 4x8G for $200
I look for and bought Mac Pro Memory last year.
People rip the 4G sticks out of their Macs and replace them with higher density modules.
They dump the 4G on ebay so you can find some deals but the ECC UDIMM are pricey.
I did see a single 16G stick for under $80 just now.
But this deal for 4x8G for $68 OBO is MUCH better if you are OK with the slower RAM
32GB KIT 4X 8GB PC3-10600 1333 MHZ ECC
Here is 8G for $54 shipped
Here is 8G for $40 shipped
both single stick but you get 1866 faster ram
So $70 for 2 is not bad and $65 was pretty decent.
This was a better deal than most people think. Give Zack$ some credit.
You're doing better than me. I bought 4x4G for $70 last year which is down to $50And $70 for 2 sticks is not bad but it's far from a deal, that's the standard price I've paid the last couple years for DDR3 ECC UDIMM when buying 32GB (4x8GB).
I did, he countered with $70 :/
