Build’s Name: Quiet Norco 3116
Operating System/ Storage Platform: ESXi 4.1
CPU:Xeon X3450
Motherboard:X8SIL-F
Chassis:Norco rpc-3116
Drives:6 x 2TB Hitachi 5k3000 + Raid 1 120G 2.5" Hitachi 120G
RAM: 4x4G Kingston unbuffered - ECC
Add-in Cards: Intel Quad PT PCIE - Intel Dual MT PCI - IBM M1015 PCIE

Other Bits:

Usage Profile:
VMWare ESxi running :
Second Layer FW (pfSense) with Pci-passthrough of the Dual MT. Transparent Proxy and Gw to DMZ
OpenIndiana NAS (NFS/SMB Shares)
Subversion Server thru Apache (Debian)

So here the parts I used to have a silent build :
CPU Fan : Scythe Samurai ZZ CPU with Nexus 92mm Real Silent
2 x 60mm : Mini Kaze Scythe 60mm + 2x4 silicon fan mounts
4x 80mm : Nexus 80mm PWM Silent Case Fan. You can use Nexus Real Silent 80MM Case if you want it really silent. I chose the PWM so in summer I can manage the heat.
The 80mm are directly connected to the motherboard and speed is managed thru Bios, I've set to the minimum speed.
Chassis Temperature is 40 C.

Not to be too picky, but this is a "quiet" build, not a "silent" one. At best, "silent" requires no moving parts. At least it requires being at inaudible levels, which I not not sure this one with 7 fans ahieves - even with the pretty darn quiet ones you have chosen.

Your D510 posted a few minutes ago is silent...both are good builds.

You're right PigLover I'm not here to do marketing like most Fan Vendors.
I've changed the title and replaced Silent by Quiet.
Thanks for your comment.
