I can't seem to find any below 0.5m, I'm looking for around 15-20cm? (like the e92450-001 ast 1224 version that comes with the intel expanders)
Wanting to patch a short internal 8087 to a 8087->8088 adapter.

Any sources or suggestions (other than just grab a 8e/16e card)?

Nvm answered my own question, found some short supermicro ones that fit the bill and are pretty cheap on ebay:
CBL-0109L-02 ~ 22cm IPASS to IPASS SAS sff-8086 ~ this is about 20 bucks
CBL-0108L-02 ~ 39cm IPASS to IPASS SAS sff-8086 ~ this is under 5 on ebay

HPE at least Gen9 or earlier vintage SAS expanders used to ship with a cable kit that included a couple of ~15cm cables so they exist... but looks like you found a solution anyway.

Any idea how flexible the supermicro cables are because the 3M ones I think that HP supply are so stiff.

Awesome I appreciate, are they relatively flexible and how <18cm are they?
If they're stiff like Evan noted and <15cm not sure I'll be able to use them easily for the U-turn patch.

They look somewhat flexible based off the pictures, the 39cm one especially on several are folded in the middle from the looks of it and look only moderately rigid just no sleeve on it.

Oh yeah they are not that inflexible at all,
It’s hard to describe what I was meaning, maybe I should just say they are not ‘soft’ cables.

Maybe this is what all look like , I have only ever really seen this style in use.
