sfp+ modules not working in new network card

I have ibm sfp+ modules that work all my network adapters. I picked up some dell x710 daughter cards and took my modules out of my old nic's and put them in the dell. No lights. I know the modules work.

These are the dell's: Dell Intel X710 Quad Port 10Gb DA/SFP+ Ethernet, Network Daughter Card, Customer Install | Dell USA

Can anyone tell me what modules do work?

intel is really cool and vendor locks optics. you'll need some intel branded or coded SFP+ modules

Good to know. I've always swapped my modules with nic's and they've always worked. So would a dell module work or should I look for intel?

If you use Linux you may be able to resolve the problem by adding the allow_unsupported_sfp flag.
