Hey folks,

Building a new firewall with the Chelsio T520-CR card and need to validate a few points before I pull the trigger:
  • Will the Chelsio T520 negotiate lower than 10GBASE?
    • My homelab is 1000BASE-T and I'm slowly upgrading
      • Edit: Looks like the card supports 802.3z which would mean it can negotiate 1000BASE-T
    • The copper SFP will be used for the WAN gig connection
    • The fiber SFP will connect to the HP 1810G-24 switch
    • Is the T520 compatible with SFP modules?
  • I also need help validating my fs.com order before I pull the trigger:

Thanks for the help here. Trying to make sure I have all of my ducks in a row before making any large financial commitments.

don't know if that chelsio will link at 1gbps (it probably will), but last time I checked they still have an optics vendor lock, so you'd need a chelsio branded (or coded) SFP

If I have the Dell version of the card how should I have my SFP coded? Chelsio or Dell?

I would suggest getting fiberstore to do a custom cable , as it will definately be compatible to both ends. And they are not too expensive as well

Crap. I got a LC UPC to LC UPC Duplex OM4 cable. Is that not the right cable?
