I got a treat for you my peeps. However, this is only if you have the use case/need. Please read this whole novel...er...um...post before you do anything.
So I normally browse through eBay looking for cheap deals on the things I want, and after a while, this gets boring. Or maybe I can't find any deal. Or worse yet, the thing I wanted or discovered is sold out.
Hence, I always end up out of luck.
Well, I became tired of this, and as such, started making my own luck...
Now, I negotiate bulk deals. I have gotten pretty damn good with it too. Sometimes it doesn't work, but most times I am successful.
So I thought I would do something nice for you guys, my STH brothers.
I once brought you a cheap 2TB drive a long time ago. Do some of you remember that? It was ages ago!
Presenting to you now, the 6TB hard drive for $42 bucks. Yes, I said $42 dollars.
I negotiated the price for our members of STH to get accepted for Best Offers. All you have to do is add the totally non-conspicuous code word "-----" in the message box, and the seller will accept your offer.
Enter it like this in the best offer message box: "code: -----"
Now, of course, as with everything, there are caveats.
1. These are NOT new drives. For goodness sake, these are NOT new drives. They are used. USED. They WILL have higher than normal power on hours. I believe these were used in a Datacenter. Some may even have a reallocated sector or 2. For me, no biggie. For you, if you are a tighty whitey and a new drive aficionado, then don't bother. Just pay full price and enjoy your new, shiny drive. This is for people who don't mind some cheap used SAS drives. If you haz details about this model, or can contribute your experience with them, please do. Oh, by the way, did I mention they are SAS drives? Yeah? Ok. Just checking.
2. The seller is a nice gracious guy. He replied to all my demands...er..um...questions. He agreed to my stupidly low price. So, please don't inundate the guy with silly questions. Important ones are ok, but please, keep it at a minimum. He agreed to a super low price in my opinion for decent used 6TB drives. Lets be gracious as much as possible.
3. He only has a little over 150 of these drives available. We sadly missed out on a supply of 2,100 drives he had, but some rich monster/business and/or office offered him a way higher price so he had to accept. I know this from the backend chats and messages we had back and forth when I was negotiating the price. Point is, I'm not saying you can't go crazy and offer for 10 at a time of these, but lets try to share so everyone gets a drive or 2. I myself will offer for maybe no more than 4 or so.
4. Remember, you have to put "Sleyk" in the message box to get accepted. If you forget and he doesn't accept your offer, don't be mad at me, son.
5. Sadly, I don't know if the seller will ship international. Only US shipping. Its possible, but you will have to work this out for yourself with the seller. I believe they use the eBay Global shipping program.
I'm very sowwy! You can also call them to see if you can setup something that way as well. Good luck!
6. Yes, these are SEAGATE drives. Take that for what you will. I personally use TONS of Seagate drives with zero problems on a daily basis. I get little to no failures. No more, no less than Western Digital. Again, take that for what you will. I ain't debating no one on which manufacturer is better. Please. Lets not do this to this thread. I beg of you. If you like WD, buy WD. If you like Seagate and don't have a problem with them, buy away folks.
7. Since the seller is such a good guy, they have run into problems where people have taken advantage of them. So the only condition he put on this low price per drive is that you don't have no more than 1 unpaid strike and that you pay once accepted. I think this is more than fair. Please don't ruin my goodwill with the seller. He may be able to offer other things in the future. I'm hoping on keeping a good relationship with him.
8. Last but not least, if everything goes well, and you got your drives, leave the seller a feedback. It would be much appreciated and will tell him that we are grateful for the low price and encourage him to give us more deals.
