Seagate ST4000DM000 4TB SATA Thread

Anyone use these drives yet? I have not seen much on them.

Not interested in experiences with previous generation drives, just these especially on LSI controllers or the onboard Intel C600 series SAS and SATA ports

I am using these in my Synology...well they are pulls from external units, but its the same drive.
Havent had any issues.

fwiw, i got the 3TB versions for 150 and now that these are out close to that price, I'm pissed. They should work just fine.

I've got 2 running in a Dell c6100 with modded low(er) RPM fans. Because they are only 5900RPM drives, they don't run anywhere near as warm as the WD 1TB Blacks that run along side them. Can't say much for power though, obviously less than any standard 7200RPM drive.

I've had great luck with them; would definitely purchase more in the future if I need too.

I've got 8 of them running ZFS Raidz2 in an HP DL180 G6. Controller is M1015 via the SAS expander on the backplane. They've been running for a couple of months in a light workload with no problems.

I've had a handful in a mixed array for a few months now with no problems. ZFS RAIDZ2 connected to a M1015 passed through to a Linux VM doing ZoL.
