I can get 4TB worth (2x 2TB) sata 860 evo for $650 now and during holidays was about $575.

This drive is still TLC even if better endurance, so they should price it at $799, NAS premium.

Unfortunately, they are likely thinking the high end business NAS market though so it will be close to double in price.

The main question I'd have about it that wasn't answered was if it has PLP. That would make it more interesting...

I hope these support DRAT/DZAT (Deterministic Read/Zeros After Trim). Consumer SSDs dropped that capability several years ago. Linux MD-RAID won't do trim/discard with parity raid (4/5/6) without it. So far it has been cheaper to heavily overprovision consumer SSDs (25+%) and forgo trim/discard than to buy enterprise drives with DZAT support.

I read elsewhere it uses sandforce and I don't think sandforce needs plp.

The data sheet lists "Power loss data protection circuit" as a feature. That suggests caps to me.

I don't understand these... If they don't have super aggressive pricing they won't sell very many at their targeted market: soho/smb. Larger enterprises won't purchase these either as they can afford the price economy of tiered NVMe and bulk cheap storage.
