They are 122.99 when I click on the link. They are 122.99 when I add to cart. But looking at purchases show folk getting them for 104.99, 109.99, 119.99 and 123.99. Nobody seems to have purchased at the price I see offered. Very strange.

Yeah, that's too bad. I was waiting until I got home to buy one, so I could use a cashback site. Oh well, it will hit this price or lower in the near future.

Highly discourage anyone buy these. Light use over 2 years, had 2 out of 3 shit the bed spectacularly (total data loss, not bought at the same time--completely different batches).
disregard.

Interesting...used them for two years? I was of the impression these drives just hit the market about 6 months ago.

There is always amazon warehouse deals at this price
Not right now, and even if that were true, a used or refurbished drive for the same price that the new version regularly dips to isn't much of a deal.

Seagate's used to be fantastic 6 years ago. Now I avoid them like the plague... For some odd reason, their offerings post 2012 that I've acquired over the years fail more than my other drives.

The drive inside has been out for 3 or so years. I had this:

They just keep coming up with different names and cases for something to go around a piece of crap ST4000DM000 drive.

disregard

These are the portable 2.5" drives not the STx000DM000 drives. I think they are actually Samsung drives.

This thread is about their new line of 2.5" drives. The ones you refer to here are the older 3.5" drives. Your feelings about Seagate might be relevant but the example is not.

oh damn, sorry guys.
I'm curious about long term testing of the 2.5" drives. Heard nothing about longevity for them.
