SAS9211-8i IT Mode RAID

I just bought and flashed two 9211-8i adaptors and connected eight WD Red 4TB drive and in Ubuntu it shows all the drives when I do a fdisk -l, but it also shows a Disk /dev/md2. Could someone explain to me what this is please and thank you.

/dev/md* are raid devices.

OK. If I didn't set up any kind of raid with the LSI 9211 why is it shown?

Nevermind I see what happened. I put the disk in my synology nas before I put it in this and thats why.
