Yeah, there's still going to be some "Dell" info left after flashing to LSI IT mode. Windows will initially detect it as Dell HBA, but you can tell it you want to use a different driver, and pick the LSI SAS2008 "Falcon" driver.

In Windows 10, under Device Manager > Storage controllers, open the Dell 6Gbps SAS HBA properties. click Update Driver (under the Driver tab) > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer, both the "Dell 6Gbps SAS HBA" and "LSI Adapter, SAS2 2008 Falcon" should be listed. Click on the second one and reboot and now the controller should show up under Device Manager as LSI Adapter, SAS2 2008 Falcon with Driver Version: 2.0.79.81, Driver Provider: LSI.

for the record, this old thread saved my butt. I couldn't figure out why my SAS drives wouldn't power on when I switched from a molex breakout cable to a sata breakout cable.

They were all 12G SAS3 and had this power problem. I had thought it was only for SATA drives.
