I have a Fujitsu CP400i x8 SAS controller (LSI SAS3008 based).
As soon the controller has initialized (when the PC's BIOS/UEFI initialize) I can hear the disks "clicks" (heads make a move) once every second.
So this is not a driver or OS issue, this is on the controller level.
I have SATA disks connected. All the disks connected do this presumably read/write every second.
I've tried the following:
-both WD and Seagate disks.
-tried all ports.
-1, 2 and 6 disk connected.
-configured in RAID and completely unused.
-changed power-down and link-speed on controller
-reset the controller settings to default.
The only thing stopping this is to disable the controller ROM, but then I cannot not use the controller and disks either of cause.
Have anyone experience something similar?
I'll tried to find some different firmwares and try them out.
