The PM863 is an OEM drive though, so there’s no warranty or firmware updates? I purchased a 1Tb Pm963 for $100 for testing, but haven’t looked into it much

Most PM863 are OEM but hard to tell as I also have some with pure Samsung branding.
I really like these SATA drives, low power and good performance for a SATA disk... and that’s a good price for sure.

Oops I didn’t even notice that was an 863 instead of an 963. The Pm963 I have is NVME (u.2). Not sure that’s a good price for a SATA drive

For these drives it’s a pretty good price.
But if you don’t need it now then just wait until you do need disks as it seems price will only continue to drop on SSD right now.

PM963 NVMe is a nice disk also, less than $100 per TB for them also only worth looking at.

This is a good price for an OEM/Enterprise-rated SATA drive. 6-9 months ago these were going for >$400 apiece used on eBay. I'm glad I bought what I bought brand new, but this is a pretty slick price for a 3.84TB Samsung drive, especially if buying in bulk.

FWIW, I bought 8x Seagate Nytro 1351 drives for ~$400 apiece brand new last summer.

If you keep an eye out you can find these under $300.
I've bought a few and they've been flawless so far :)

There are reports of flash prices will spike up this year. Honestly, prices fell too quickly and I won't be surprised prices recovering. Probably, software engineers around the world crunching code to adapt their software to use flash instead of spindles. Once more software taking advantage becomes online, flash prices may start going up. I am so tempted to take advantage of these low prices but I really have no need more flash.

I just bought and brand new m2 sata 960GB for $80 and loaded several 400GB SSDs and many more smaller ones since they were cheap! All my daily driver computers are on full flash just for acoustic reasons. I am done until they are worn out but I am not sure if it will happen in this lifetime. My 10 year old OCZ Vertex 30GB is still working :)

Same for mine. [now we're both jinxed]
However, my OCZ Vertex2 60gb was a POS.

I bought one for $300 in October. I thought it was a pretty good deal for nearly 4TB of flash storage. I'm using mine in my gaming desktop as a game download location for Steam and other platforms. Not having to mess around deleting games to free up space is pretty nice.
